Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO)

The Midcontinent Independent System Operator runs the high-voltage grid and wholesale electricity market across much of the central United States, from the Gulf Coast to the Canadian border. On the map, MISO has 2,454 power plants with 200.3 GW of capacity, natural gas the largest share at 72.8 GW. Its interconnection queue holds 1,618 active requests for 347.3 GW.
